Going Raw

Filed under: Polyphasic Sleep at 2:35 pm

Week 1 (Sep 12-18 2006)
I started my raw diet on the 12th and continued to finish my non-raw foods such as hummus, chips, and tofurky. I decided to throw it all out and go completely raw on the 16th or 17th. My sleep seemed lighter, and I was no longer weighed down after meals.

Week 2 (Sep 19-25 2006)
I experienced minor detox symptoms such as light headache and burning while urinating (I’m sure that was because I was dehydrated though). My weight has remained stable, and I started consuming large quantities of raw nuts when I became really hungry.

Week 3 (Sep 26-Oct 2 2006)
I started polyphasic sleep on the 30th and continued the raw diet without any problems. I decided to reduce the consumption of nuts in my diet because I would often feel weighed down after eating them. I was looking for that “satisfied” feeling after eating, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid by starting the diet.

Week 4 (Oct 3-9 2006)
I slept for about 12 hours on the night of the 6th, and then I started to experience severe headaches and nausea for about 3 days. I quit polyphasic sleep and allowed my body to sleep as much as it wanted.
