Day 1
Sat
9/30/06
I was still delirious from a night out with friends before this nap. I felt tired yet awake. I used Placebo’s 23-minute Sleep Sound Track for the first time, and the nap was restful. I woke up feeling slightly groggy and still delirious. It was very hard to stay awake before this nap, and I ended up cleaning the bathroom and talking to my roommate. I was relieved to conk out, but I was very groggy when I woke up. A bit of Warcraft 3 woke me up. I felt energized when this nap approached. I fell asleep with no problems, and bounced awake easily. I felt a little tired when this nap approached, and although I woke up easily, I felt somewhat groggy and scattered after I woke up. After a couple games of Warcraft, I finally found a bit of focus and almost missed my nap as I got absorbed in what I was writing. I was worried that I wouldn’t fall asleep, but I fell asleep fine, popped awake, and continued from where I left off before the nap. I had enough focus before this nap to read, write, and do some light programming. I fell asleep easily, and popped up before the alarm went off.
Day 2
Sun
10/1/06
My concentration before the nap was quite high and I was able to get things done without music as a stimulator. I got to sleep on time, woke up on time with the alarm, and popped awake without any grogginess. My nap went as scheduled, but again, I was very sleepy before the nap and very dizzy/ disoriented after the nap (moreso than groggy). This seems to be (as expected) the toughest segment. Actually, it’s the only segment that’s really tough. It was relatively easy to fall asleep, and I popped up from my nap feeling alert. I fell asleep and woke up without a problem, and I was slightly groggy after waking. I was really sleepy an hour before the nap, so I played some Warcraft and accidentally played right up till it was nap time. Despite my overactive mind, I was still able to fall asleep, but the nap was brief. This nap was ideal. I fell asleep very quickly, and popped awake with zero grogginess.
Day 3
Mon
10/2/06
I was very energized before the nap. Surprisingly, I woke up not feeling too groggy, but then I soon realized I was sleepy. I fell asleep in the chair for an unknown amout of time but certainly under 1.5 hours. I was not as sleepy as usual for this nap because of my slumber in the chair. I woke up without any grogginess although not able to concentrate much either. Fell asleep without problem and popped awake feeling alert (IIRC). I woke up feeling tired and ended up playing Warcraft for a long time. I woke up feeling spacey. Not tired, delirious, alert, or groggy. Just spaced out. I woke up fine with just the sleep track mp3, and I felt minimally groggy. When I got up, I felt sleepier, so I played Warcraft.
Day 4
Tues
10/3/06
I woke up very easily with only the mp3 (no alarm), and sat up feeling alert. Then I became very sleepy/ dizzy, and stumbled around for an hour wondering if I should jog in the cold, and then I played Warcraft. I was very relieved to finally get to nap, but I woke up feeling quite groggy. An hour of Warcraft allowed me to conentrate afterwards. I got to sleep and woke up without problems as usual. However, I’m a little less awake/ alert than normal during this period. I was groggy after this nap, so I played a limited amount of Warcraft, and I was better after that. I woke up, and I wasn’t really tired or groggy or alert or anything. But I was able to sit right down and do some school work without any waker-upers. My level of concentration is not amazing but doable. The nap went normally IIRC, but I was groggy/ dizzy, and then I was quite tired. What else can I say… Warcraft.
Day 5
Wed
10/4/06
I woke up again groggy/ dizzy and played a limited amount of Warcraft, and then I felt wide awake. I woke up half-way through the nap, looked at the elapsed time and fell back to sleep instantly. For the next period, I was sleepy and awake at various times. Woke up a bit groggy, couldn’t play Warcraft, went into work, started waking up while there. After this nap, I played an hour or so of Warcraft, and then I had energy and enthusiasm to clean my room among other things. Normal Nap. I nearly overslept.
Day 6
Thurs
10/5/06
Normal Nap. Normal Nap. Normal Nap. I accidentally slept for 1 hour. Normal Nap. Shortly before this nap, I experienced a violent outburst from a neighbor. I could not sleep at all after that.
Day 7
Fri
10/6/06
Slept for ~2 hours. Slept for ~2 hours. Normal Nap. Normal Nap. Normal Nap. Sleep.
Day 8
Sat
10/7/06
Sleep. Sleep. Sleep? Sleep? Warcraft? Back on the schedule. Could not sleep for this nap. Got up with a bad headache. I thought I was back on the schedule. Ha! Sleeeeeeep.
Day 9
Sun
10/8/06
Sleep. Sleep. Slept for 12 hours. I have a bangin’ headache. Ouch, the headache hasn’t gone away! Sleeeeeeep.  I have returned to monophasic.
